Get ready for an epic adventure! I can hardly contain my excitement as I share the scoop on our thrilling trip to Scotland to see Taylor Swift live in concert!

I’ve been dreaming of seeing Taylor forever, and when I won tickets last year, I was over the moon! But, the dates didn’t work out, and I had to sell them. Fast forward to now – I saw those ads on Facebook about Taylor coming to Europe, and I knew it was fate! What better way to celebrate my upcoming birthday than with an epic Taylor Swift concert experience? William agreed, so he told me to snag some fantastic tickets! After a relentless hunt, I scored the perfect tickets in Edinburgh, Scotland! Thanks to Ryanair’s affordable flights, we booked our tickets and a cozy hotel room in Newhaven for the night. I also grabbed tram tickets to whisk us away to Murrayfield Stadium, where all the magic will unfold!

Now, let’s talk about the most exciting part – THE OUTFIT! I went on a dazzling shopping spree on SHEIN and Amazon, picking out the sparkliest, most fabulous outfits ever! I got two silver and pink ensembles, a pink button-up for William, and even some “Lover” earrings and Swifty bracelets. Gotta have options for all those Instagram-worthy moments, right? Below is the links to what i bought for the magical night!

Now, we’re just eagerly awaiting the arrival of our packages and counting down the days until the big event! It’s going to be an unforgettable adventure with my partner in crime, William!

Fri-lor Swift

Today was finally the day! After work, we set off for Dusseldorf, eagerly anticipating our stay at the La Melis Hotel. We were expecting a cozy, modern retreat, but oh boy, were we in for a surprise! The hotel looked a bit rundown, with only two cars parked outside. As we walked into the reception area, it was eerily quiet. No one in sight, no bell to ring, and no directions to follow. We decided to call the hotel’s number, but the person who answered only spoke German and hung up on us. Confused and a bit frustrated, we tried calling the number listed on Bookings, hoping to get someone who spoke English. But, surprise surprise, the same guy answered and hung up on us again! Just when we thought we were stuck in this bizarre limbo forever, a woman appeared from behind a random door! She spoke English – thank goodness! She gave us our key and showed us to our room. Phew!

Navigating to our room felt like solving a puzzle, with a series of doors and staircases. Finally, we arrived at our room, which was… interesting. The previous guest had left their trash behind (not the most welcoming sight), but there was a fancy smart TV (that didn’t have WiFi) and a bed that was… well, it would do for the night.

After our long drive and quirky hotel experience, we were starving! So, we headed to a nearby McDonald’s and refueled with some tasty burgers and fries. Then, we settled in for the night, watching some TV and getting a good night’s rest before our early morning departure.

And for a Saturday night there, We were forever

We woke up bright and early, ready to tackle the day and head to our destination: Edinburgh! After a quick drive to Dusseldorf Weeze airport, we parked, checked in, and boarded our flight. Before we knew it, we were landing in Edinburgh, Scotland! The chilly wind and freezing temperatures greeted us as we stepped off the plane. Brrr!

After collecting our luggage, we noticed the buzz of excitement in the air with many flights arriving from America and people chatting about the Taylor Swift concert tonight. It’s amazing to think that fans from across the pond made the journey to Scotland for the show!

With our luggage in hand, we hailed an Uber to take us to a cozy café for breakfast. Our driver was already waiting for us at the airport, and we set the destination for “Em’s Kitchen” – a 15-minute drive from the airport. We were excited to warm up with some delicious food and coffee before checking into our hotel at 2 pm.

We got dropped off at Em’s Kitchen and there was only one person in front of us. After a 20-minute wait, we were finally called to the back area and greeted by our friendly waitress. She was a whirlwind of efficiency, delivering our menus and taking our coffee

order in no time. We both opted for vanilla lattes, and then it was time to peruse the menu. Everything sounded delicious, but I decided to go for the smashed avocado and poached eggs with Biscoff pancakes. William, on the other hand, chose the Scottish Breakfast with blueberry French toast.

We were both excited to see what our meals would look like. And then, everything came out at lightning speed! My pancakes looked like a work of art, with fluffy peaks and a colorful arrangement of blueberries and strawberries. The smashed avocado and poached eggs on sourdough bread looked mouthwatering, and I was glad I had ordered those pancakes to go along with it. After all, who doesn’t love a good pancake?

William’s Scottish Breakfast was a bit smaller than expected, but the blueberry French toast was massive, topped with crispy bacon and a generous helping of blueberries. It was a feast fit for a king! We dug in, savoring every bite of our delicious breakfasts. It was the perfect way to start our day in Edinburgh.

After our delightful breakfast at Em’s Kitchen, we stepped outside to find a long line of people waiting to get in! We were relieved to have made it just in time. Then we set out to explore the streets of Edinburgh.

Our first stop was H&M, where we hoped to find some warm sweatshirts to combat the chilly weather. And, lucky us, we found a few that caught our eye! With our new purchases in hand, we headed off to check out the spa where I would be celebrating my bachelorette party. We walked down a few streets, taking in the sights and sounds of the city, until we finally arrived at the spa.

Unfortunately, our excitement was short-lived, as we soon discovered that the spa was not open despite the posted hours. We were left standing outside, wondering what to do next. But fear not, dear friends! We stumbled upon a cozy pub called, Rose and Crown just around the corner. As we settled into the cozy atmosphere of the Rose and Crown pub, we decided to treat ourselves to a drink to warm up and take the chill off. I opted for a refreshing mix of Edinburgh raspberry gin and lemonade, while William chose a whisky and ginger ale to warm his spirits. The gin and lemonade was a delightful combination of tangy and sweet, with the Edinburgh gin adding a subtle hint of fruity botanicals. The whisky, on the other hand, was a rich and smooth blend that paired perfectly with the spicy kick of the ginger ale.

After we finished our drinks, my phone buzzed with an unexpected message. It was the owner of our Booking home, informing me that our place was ready and available for us to check in – two hours ahead of schedule! We couldn’t believe our luck. We quickly grabbed an Uber and made our way to the home, eager to see what awaited us.
