What an amazing day lies ahead! We’re starting off with a visit to the iconic Louvre in the morning, immersing ourselves in art and culture. Then, William, my thoughtful boyfriend has planned a special photoshoot for us and to top it all off, we have a romantic dinner reservation at the breathtaking Eiffel Tower. I couldn’t ask for a more perfect day!

Our day kicked off on a high note as we decided to grab breakfast from the lobby, opting for a change from the room service. To our delight, the breakfast spread in the lobby exceeded our expectations with a plethora of delicious options. With satisfied taste buds and energized by some scrumptious cappuccinos, we summoned an Uber and embarked on our journey to the Louvre. Let the adventures begin!

The Louvre

Upon arrival, the Louvre was bustling with people, but we were prepared! Arriving early gave us the chance to locate our line without any stress. However, when we approached, we encountered two lines, one for 10am and the other for 10:30am, while our entry time was at 11am. Thinking strategically, we joined the 10:30am line with the intention to seamlessly transition to the 11am line once it was time.

However, we soon learned that the lines were strictly for their designated times, and we had to find another way to occupy our time until our slot. Undeterred, we decided to explore the surroundings and capture some memorable photos while waiting for the lines to shift.

We came back soon later and despite our best efforts, it seemed like navigating the lines at the Louvre was turning into a bit of a challenge. we thought we had it all figured out, but oh no, the universe had other plans. After confidently queuing up for the 11am entry, we were hit with the classic plot twist: “Wrong line, folks!

You’ve got a tour, not just any old entry ticket!” Cue the facepalm moment. It’s like we were stuck in a real-life game of “Find the Right Line,” and let me tell you, we were losing. After some amusingly misguided wandering, we finally stumbled upon the elusive correct line in a spot that might as well have been Narnia. Lesson learned: when in doubt, expect the unexpected at the Louvre.

We find the right line and enter into the louvre. The place was mammoth, and we were like lost puppies in a labyrinth. It was like being thrown into a maze with no map and a bunch of blindfolded tour guides, but we soon spotted a sign that read “tours,” we figured that was our best bet and followed it. After a delightful game of hallway roulette, we stumbled upon a room and thought, “Aha! Help!” Lo and behold, we were directed down a hallway and around a corner, as if that’s not the most cryptic set of instructions ever. We exchanged a bewildered glance, thinking, “Sure, sounds easy enough.” Cue a comical jaunt through the corridors until, by some miracle, we found the check-in spot. We grabbed our headphones we followed the instructions to the designated room.

we stumbled upon this room that resembled a quaint little study behind a pretentious glass door, feeling like we’d accidentally wandered into a scene from a mystery novel. And surprise, surprise – we were the only ones in there! Because, you know, who needs company when you’re lost in a labyrinth of confusion? As the clock ticked away, we couldn’t help but entertain the thought that maybe, just maybe, we had missed the memo and landed in the wrong place.

But fear not! Just as we were about to declare ourselves honorary members of the “Lost Tourists Anonymous,” the room started filling up with fellow clueless wanderers, And right on cue, our tour guide made their grand entrance, as if they’d been waiting for the perfect moment to sweep us off on our magical museum tour.

Our tour guide was an absolute gem – bubbly, animated, and as friendly as a Disney character! With a twinkle in her eye, she whisked us away on a whirlwind journey through time and art. Before diving into the depths of history and culture, she made sure our headphones were working perfectly so we wouldn’t miss a single word of her enchanting narration. And with that, we were off, ready to explore the wonders of the Louvre under her expert guidance.

Our journey through the Louvre began with a fascinating exploration of Egyptian art, immersing ourselves in the rich history and intricate craftsmanship of ancient civilizations. From there, we ventured into the captivating world of Roman art, where we were greeted by a mesmerizing array of statues in all shapes and sizes.

Among the highlights was the renowned Winged Victory of Samothrace, a breathtaking masterpiece that left us in awe of its stunning detail and majestic presence. Although time and travel may have taken their toll, leaving only a fragment of the sculpture behind, its beauty and significance still shone through.

As we continued our journey through the Louvre, we found ourselves surrounded by rooms adorned with breathtaking beauty from top to bottom. Each room was a masterpiece in itself, meticulously decorated with intricate details that begged to be explored. Everywhere we turned, there was something captivating to behold. Our knowledgeable instructor regaled us with the rich history behind each artwork, adding depth and context to our immersive experience.

Soon, the walls came alive with an array of paintings spanning a multitude of styles, from the romanticism of bygone eras to the classical elegance of the high Renaissance and beyond. It was a feast for the senses, a treasure trove of artistic wonders waiting to be discovered around every corner.

We neared the conclusion of our tour and reached the pinnacle of our Louvre adventure: the legendary Mona Lisa. Tucked away in its own little alcove, the painting commanded attention with its iconic presence.

Security and ropes guided eager visitors in line for a closer glimpse, but we decided to capture its essence from a distance, opting for a snapshot that still did justice to its fame. And let me tell you, the Mona Lisa did not disappoint.

There was something surreal about beholding such a renowned piece of art in person, knowing the rich history and intrigue that surrounded it. It was like stepping into a time capsule, where the past mingled with the present.  If you’re not familiar with its intriguing history, I highly recommend giving it a quick Google search. Fun fact: this iconic painting, the Mona Lisa, has had quite the adventure!

At one point, it was actually stolen and, believe it or not, ended up hanging in a restroom for a surprisingly long time. But hey, I won’t spoil all the juicy details for you. Consider it a little homework assignment to uncover the fascinating story behind one of the world’s most famous works of art!
